Our op-ed, " We need to significantly increase the production and delivery of French weapons to Ukraine ," published by Le Monde on January 31, 2024, signed by 5 generals, 3 senior officers, representatives of civil society, academics, lawyers, writers and renowned artists, collected more than 2,500 spontaneous signatures in just a few days.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine poses a threat to all of democratic Europe, and only a military victory for the Ukrainian army can put an end to the Kremlin's ambitions.

Ukraine's victory is possible if we supply it with the weapons it requests. For France, this means at least doubling our arms and ammunition supplies.

To this end, we request the adoption of an economic and industrial solidarity mechanism with Ukraine to:

• to increase the manufacture of weapons and ammunition in French companies. This implies giving guarantees to manufacturers regarding the volume and duration of future orders;

• To finance the war effort, a national loan and a public savings account dedicated to military aid for Ukraine could be created. This would allow for the mobilization of all our citizens.
