Press release from For Ukraine, for their freedom and ours!

A statement from the association For Ukraine, for their freedom and ours!

Following the Kremlin's assassination of Alexei Navalny, and with the extent of the disinformation campaigns targeting France being revealed, indignation is not enough. France's international credibility and security are threatened. The association " For Ukraine, for their freedom and ours!" calls, in an opinion piece published on March 1st in "Le Monde," for stronger action against Putin's propaganda outlets, focusing on six key measures.

  • the withdrawal of Putin's Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour,

  • the revocation of the diplomatic status of the Russian Orthodox Center and the expulsion of its

    members within 24 hours

  • the closure of press outlets, dating agencies or websites, financed

entirely or partially funded by Russian money

  • the strict application of European sanctions against Russian television channels

relayed on social media (VGTRK, ANO-TV Novosti, National Media Group, Zvezda, Inforos, Russia Today or Sputnik)

  • the cessation by the satellite operator Eutelsat Group, including France and the United Kingdom

are among the main shareholders, of the broadcast of the two television channels and the radio station of the Russian Armed Forces, Zvezda, to Russia and to the occupied Ukrainian territories.

  • the application of the most severe measures provided for by law against French nationals who, due to their paid relationships with the Kremlin or its intermediaries,

continue to serve as conduits for its propaganda.

We welcome, the text concludes, the call by the President of the Republic, on February 26, for a renewed effort

necessary in the aid to Ukraine which must "first materialize in the delivery and effective production of the weapons demanded by the Ukrainian government".

But these declarations "also imply that measures must be taken to suppress on our soil any propaganda or disinformation serving the Russian Federation, to condemn its French intermediaries and to expel its Russian agents," concludes the text, whose initial signatories are:
